What a gift is

A Big Day Stories gift is a code that gives the person you choose the story credits described in the gift offer. It is digital: there is nothing to post.

Buying a gift

• You choose the gift, the recipient's first name and email address, your name, an optional message and the day it should be sent (up to 12 months ahead). You pay with Stripe like any other order.
• The code is created only when the gift email is sent. We keep only a secure fingerprint of the code and its last 4 characters, so nobody, including us, can read the full code later.
• You can change the recipient's email or the sending day, or send the email again, from "My gifts" in your account until the gift is redeemed.

Using a gift

• The recipient needs an adult account (18 or over) and enters the code in their account. A code works once.
• A gift must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase. The credits it gives are then valid for 24 months, like any other credits.
• To protect gifts, the number of tries to enter a code is limited, and the error message is the same for every wrong code.

Refunds and withdrawal

• The buyer can withdraw from a gift that has not been redeemed within 14 days of purchase and get a full refund; the code then stops working. Write to [completed before launch] or use "My requests".
• After the gift is redeemed, the credits follow the normal rules in the Terms (used credits cannot be refunded).
• Gifts have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

The recipient's details

We use the recipient's first name and email address only to deliver the gift. They are never used for marketing and are deleted or anonymised when the gift is finished. See the Privacy Policy.
