Terms

1. Who we are

Big Day Stories is run by [completed before launch], tax code (CUI) [completed before launch], trade register number [completed before launch], registered address [completed before launch] ("we", "us"). You can write to us at [completed before launch] or through the Contact page.

These Terms apply when you use bigdaystories.com and buy from us. By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

2. Who can use Big Day Stories

• Accounts are only for parents and legal guardians aged 18 or over. Children never have accounts and never type anything in the app.
• You may add only children you are the parent or legal guardian of, or for whom you have that person's permission.
• You are responsible for keeping your password and your two-step login (if you use it) safe, and for what is done in your account.

3. What we offer

• Personalised stories: illustrated stories in which your child is the hero, about a milestone you choose (for example the potty, brushing teeth or a visit to the dentist). You can read them on the site and download them as a PDF and, where offered, as a printable.
• Stories are made with artificial intelligence. The text and the pictures are created with AI models from outside providers, following our own rules and safety checks. Every story carries the line "Developed by Big Day Stories, with the help of AI". Our stories support everyday parenting; they are not medical, psychological or educational advice and do not replace a doctor or a specialist.
• Credits: each story uses one credit. Credits are sold one at a time or in bundles, are valid for 24 months from purchase, and have no cash value.
• Sets and collections: some offers contain a fixed list of stories for one child (for example the Kindergarten adaptation set or a Printable collection). They are valid for 24 months and are used only for the stories they include.
• Free preview (when available): you may see the start of one story before paying. Unlocking the rest uses one credit; the text you saw does not change.
• Gifts: see section 7.
• Printed books are not on sale yet. When they are, their terms will be added here before you can buy them.

4. Prices and payment

• Prices are shown in lei (RON) or euro (EUR), including VAT, on the Prices page and before you pay. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Stripe (cards, wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Klarna where it is offered). We never see or store your full card details. Klarna's own terms apply if you choose it.
• All purchases are one-time payments. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.
• An order is confirmed only when the payment provider confirms the payment. We send you a confirmation by email and an invoice.
• Discount codes follow the rules shown with the code (dates, offers, number of uses) and cannot be exchanged for money.

5. Your 14-day right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the European Union you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason.

• Digital stories (credits, sets, collections): before paying you are asked to agree that your stories are available right away, and to confirm that you understand you lose the right of withdrawal for a story once it starts being made. Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Credits already used to make a story cannot. For sets and collections, the stories not yet started can be refunded within 14 days, in proportion to the price.
• Gifts: the buyer can withdraw from a gift that has not been redeemed within 14 days of purchase and get a full refund; the gift code then stops working.
• To withdraw, write to us at [completed before launch] or use "My requests" in your account, stating your order. You may use the model form in Annex 1 to Government Emergency Ordinance 34/2014, but you do not have to. We refund you within 14 days, using the same payment method.

6. If something is wrong with a story

If a story has a mistake (for example a wrong name, a picture that does not look right, or text that does not match your choices), press "Something looks wrong?" in the reader or write to us. We will check it and, where the problem is ours, correct the story, make it again or give the credit back. This does not limit your legal rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content (Government Emergency Ordinance 141/2021).

If a story cannot be finished because of a technical problem, the credit is returned to your account automatically.

7. Gifts

• A gift is a code that gives the recipient the credits described in the offer. It is sent by email to the recipient on the date you choose.
• A gift must be redeemed within 12 months of purchase. It can be redeemed once, by a signed-in adult account. Credits from a redeemed gift are then valid for 24 months.
• Gifts have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, except for the withdrawal right in section 5.
• You are responsible for the recipient's email address being correct. We use the recipient's name and email only to deliver the gift (see the Privacy Policy).

8. Photos and content you add

• You may upload a photo of your child (and of family members, pets or toys) only if you have the right to do so. The photo is used only to draw the characters and is then deleted automatically. See the Privacy Policy for the exact times.
• Do not upload photos of other people's children without their parents' permission, or anything illegal, violent, sexual or hateful. Photos go through an automatic safety check, and we may refuse a photo or text that breaks these rules.
• Do not ask for characters, brands or logos that belong to others. We describe such requests generically instead.
• You keep any rights you have in the photos and texts you add. You give us a limited permission to use them only to make your stories, for as long as needed for that.

9. Who owns the stories

• The stories made for you are for your family's personal, non-commercial use: reading, printing at home, and sharing with family and friends.
• You may not sell them, publish them commercially, or use them to train AI models. Our site, brand, templates, and the way stories are built remain ours.
• Pictures may carry a technical mark showing they were made with AI. Please do not remove it.

10. Your account and closing it

• You can delete a child, a photo, a character or your whole account at any time from Settings. When you ask to close your account, it is closed after 30 days; you can change your mind until then. After that your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, and unused credits are lost.
• We may suspend an account that breaks these Terms, misuses the service, or tries to harm other users or the site. We will tell you why, except where the law prevents us.

11. Availability and changes

• We work to keep the site available and safe, but cannot promise it will always work without interruption. Some features may be offered in a test version first and marked as such.
• We may change these Terms. If a change affects you, we tell you by email or on the site before it applies, and where needed we ask you to accept the new version. Purchases already made keep the Terms in force when you bought them.

12. Our responsibility

• We are responsible for the service we provide as required by law. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer.
• We are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our control, or for how a story is used outside your family.

13. Complaints and disputes

• Please write to us first at [completed before launch] or through "My requests". We answer as soon as possible and within 15 days at the latest.
• You can also contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro) or use the alternative dispute resolution service SAL at reclamatiisal.anpc.ro.
• These Terms are governed by Romanian law. Disputes go to the competent Romanian courts, without taking away the protection given to you by the law of the country where you live.

14. Copyright notices

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, write to [completed before launch] with the address of the content, your contact details and a short explanation. We will look at it promptly and remove infringing content. Accounts that repeatedly infringe will be closed.

15. Invitations and partner codes

When the invitation program is open, you can share your invite link from your account. If a new parent creates an account through it and their first purchase is not refunded or disputed within 14 days, both families get the number of credits shown in your account. One reward per new account; never between members of the same family; at most a limited number of rewards per month; test payments never count. Partner discount codes work like other discount codes: one per account, on the first purchase only. We may cancel rewards or codes that are obtained by fake accounts or other abuse.
