Parental consent notice

Why this notice

Big Day Stories makes stories in which your child is the hero. To do that, we use some details about your child. This notice explains, in plain words, what you agree to as the child's parent or legal guardian. It adds to our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Who can give consent

• Only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over can create an account, add a child, upload a photo or start a story.
• You confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have the permission of the person who is.
• Children never have an account and never type anything into the app.

What you agree to

Your child's details. You agree that we use your child's first name (or nickname), birth month and year, and the appearance answers you give, only to write and draw the stories you ask for.

Photos (optional). If you upload a photo of your child or of another character, you agree that it is used only to draw that character and is then deleted automatically: as soon as the character is drawn, and at the latest 7 days after your first purchase or 30 days after upload if you buy nothing. An automatic check looks at each photo for safety; no person views it. Hidden data such as location is removed before it is saved. You can delete a photo yourself at any time.

Health details (only if you choose a health topic). Some stories are about a health situation, for example a diabetes sensor. If you add such a detail, you give your explicit consent for it to be used only to write that story. You can withdraw this consent at any time; the stories already made stay in your account unless you delete them.

Artificial intelligence. You understand that the stories and pictures are created with AI models from outside providers (listed in the Privacy Policy), under contracts that do not let them use your data to train their models.

What we never do

• We never make anything about your child public.
• We never use your child's photo or details for marketing, advertising or AI training.
• We never sell your data.

Your choices

• You can see, change or delete your child's details, photos and stories at any time in your account.
• You can delete your whole account in Settings; everything is deleted 30 days later.
• You can withdraw any consent by writing to [completed before launch] or through "My requests". Withdrawing does not affect what was done before.
